The five-story, 11-unit tenement building at 126 East 7th Street in Manhattan's East Village, owned by Jonathan Soudry, has experienced persistent rodent issues over recent years, particularly in 2024-2025. While the building had no recorded bedbug infestations or units affected since at least 2019, showing effective pest management in that regard, the rodent situation has required ongoing attention.

Between April 2024 and September 2024, there were multiple instances of rat activity requiring bait application, with three separate compliance inspections indicating active rodent presence. Although an initial rodent inspection conducted in February 2025 resulted in a "Passed" status, this followed several months of active rodent management.

The building's plumbing systems encountered a water supply issue in December 2020, which was investigated by the Department of Housing Preservation and Development but resulted in no violations.
