1099 1st Avenue is a five-story, 16-unit Old Law Tenement building constructed in 1910 and currently owned by Jacob Orfali, located in Manhattan's Upper East Side neighborhood. The building has experienced several maintenance issues, with the most significant violation occurring in January 2020, when multiple safety concerns were identified in apartment 552 on the 5th floor, including missing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, as well as numerous repair needs for plaster surfaces and paint in different rooms.
