1005 Walton Avenue is a 72-unit, 6-story New Law Tenement building constructed in 1926, currently owned by Josh Hubi. The building has experienced persistent maintenance challenges over the past six months, particularly regarding heat/hot water issues and pest infestations. From December 2024 through May 2025, there were multiple tenant complaints about building-wide heat and hot water problems, with several complaints being closed due to inability to access units for inspection.

The building has also faced ongoing rodent issues, with multiple inspections in 2024 showing rat activity, and most recently, a rat sighting complaint in February 2025 that inspectors could not verify access to investigate. Pests have been a recurring problem, with three separate unsanitary conditions complaints regarding pests filed in February 2025 alone.
