The 9-unit, 4-story residential building at 189 St Georges Crescent in Norwood, owned by Gabriel Garcia and constructed in 2004, has experienced numerous maintenance issues over recent years. Most notably, in February 2025, there was a cluster of urgent problems requiring immediate attention, including multiple plumbing/water supply emergencies, door-related emergencies, and pest-related concerns.

This followed a pattern of issues from 2022-2023, with multiple complaints regarding unsanitary conditions, pests, and building maintenance problems including heating/hot water issues that affected the entire building. The Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) issued violations for window frame, wall, and paint/plaster problems in late 2022, and there were also documented issues with mold and pest infestations during that period.
