The three-unit, 2-story residential building at 1753 Fillmore Street in Van Nest, owned by Mohammed Almaklani and converted from Class A use, has experienced several significant maintenance issues since 2023, most notably in April 2023 when multiple emergency complaints were filed for various problems including heavy water leaks, electrical issues (no lighting), safety concerns (carbon monoxide detector and window guard issues), and unsanitary conditions (mold and pests). These complaints resulted in several violations, particularly impacting basement apartment #3, which has outstanding issues as of 2024 including problems with plumbing, lead-based paint, smoke detector, water leaks, and various sanitary concerns.

More recently, in May 2025, there was another heat/hot water complaint for the entire building, though inspectors were unable to access units for verification. The property has a concerning history of rat activity, with multiple inspections showing infestations between 2018 and 2023, including a "Failed for Other Reasons" finding in April 2023.
