The 61-unit, 5-story New Law Tenement at 1816 White Plains Road in Van Nest, built in 1928 and currently owned by Yechiel Weinberger, has experienced several significant maintenance issues, particularly in the past year. Most recently, in April 2025, the building had multiple HPD violations issued for water leaks, paint/plaster issues (walls and ceilings), electrical problems (outlets/switches), and pest infestations.
