2300 Bronx Park East, Bronx, NY 10467

2300 Bronx Park East is a 6-story, 72-unit residential building located in the Allerton neighborhood of the Bronx. Built in 1928 and currently owned by Paul Gecaj, this New Law Tenement building has experienced multiple maintenance issues in recent years. Most notably, in April 2025, the building faced several simultaneous violations including mold, plumbing issues (sink/basin), electrical problems (outlet/switch), water leaks, and deterioration of paint/plaster on walls and ceilings.

These problems, along with a floor condition issue, were documented in 311 Service Requests and Housing Maintenance Code Complaints. Earlier this year (January 2025), the building experienced heating and hot water problems affecting the entire property, which were subsequently verified as corrected by HPD. The building has a documented history of elevator-related issues, with multiple complaints between 2019 and 2025 regarding single device operation and no alternate service.

While most of these complaints were closed without violations being found, there were two ECB violations in 2024 related to elevator safety equipment with associated penalties. In February 2021, multiple violations were recorded for apartment 5E, including issues with window repairs, door latches, plaster surfaces, and the presence of mold and water leaks. The building has consistently passed rodent inspections in recent years (2012, 2017, and 2018) and has shown no evidence of bedbug infestations in its annual reporting since 2020. Compliance with energy reporting requirements has been noted, with violations issued for failure to submit an Energy Efficiency Report in 2022 and a Benchmarking Report in 2021, though these violations were ultimately dismissed.
