The three-story, two-family house at 921 Tilden Street in Williamsbridge, owned by Samuel Asante and constructed in 2004, experienced several maintenance issues in early 2022 that significantly impacted resident comfort. Between January 6 and January 12 of that year, the building faced multiple electrical and plumbing problems, including two emergency water supply complaints and two issues with electrical outlets and switches.

The Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) investigated these complaints, with inspections conducted between January and May 2022. While no violations were found in some cases, one plumbing complaint was noted as a duplicate of another tenant's report, and in another instance, HPD was able to verify that the electrical issues had been corrected.

All four service requests and housing maintenance complaints were eventually closed between February 11 and May 15, 2022, with at least one case specifically noting that conditions were verified as corrected. The building's relatively recent construction date suggests that these issues may have been isolated incidents rather than indicative of systemic problems, though they did present notable challenges for residents during the winter months of 2022.
