The three-story, two-family house at 764 East 234th Street in Wakefield, owned by Eddie Medina and built in 2007, has experienced several significant maintenance issues since its construction. Most recently, in 2022-2023, the building had resolved emergency plumbing and cooking gas problems that were verified corrected by the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD).

Earlier, in 2022, there were multiple concerning issues including water leaks, electrical problems with outlets and switches, and carbon monoxide detector concerns, though HPD was unable to access the property for inspection in these instances. In August 2021, a series of violations were documented in the first-floor apartment, including unsanitary conditions with mold and pests, appliance issues (electric/gas range and refrigerator), and water leak problems.
