This three-story, three-unit Old Law Tenement building at 18 St Marks Place in Gowanus, owned by Michelle Morris, has been subject to recurring violations related to bedbug reporting requirements over the past four years. Most recently, in April 2024, and in each of the previous three years (2023, 2022, and 2021), the building received class A violations for failing to file the mandatory annual bedbug reports as required by the Housing Maintenance Code.

These violations remain open as of the current date, July 2025. Prior to this ongoing issue, the building underwent a series of rodent inspections in 2018-2019, with eight bait applications between November 2018 and January 2019.

These bait treatments were followed by two initial rodent inspections in March and September 2019, both of which passed, indicating successful completion of rodent remediation efforts. While the building appears to have resolved its rodent issues as of 2019, the persistent bedbug reporting violations since 2021 suggest ongoing challenges with compliance to housing maintenance requirements, though it should be noted that these violations pertain specifically to reporting requirements rather than active infestations.
