The four-story, 10-unit tenement building at 72 5th Avenue in Park Slope, owned by Kenneth Wentworth and built in 1920, has experienced recurring heating issues over the past few years. In early 2024, there were multiple complaints regarding heating and hot water problems, with at least eight separate complaints filed between December 2023 and April 2024, including both building-wide and individual apartment issues. While many of these complaints were eventually resolved, they indicate an ongoing concern with the building's heating system.

More recently, in February 2025, there was a complaint about smoking in a smoke-free area, which was addressed by the NYC Health Department. The building currently has several open violations from late 2023 regarding the first-story public hall, including issues with self-closing doors, encumbrances, broken sheetrock, and fire retardant material. A 2024 violation remains open regarding the fire escape's drop ladder functionality.
