The 8-unit, 4-story Old Law Tenement building at 361 St Marks Avenue in Crown Heights, owned by Denise Forde and constructed in 1931, has experienced several maintenance and compliance issues over recent years. The most significant cluster of incidents occurred in October 2018, when residents reported problems with water supply and heat/hot water, leading to multiple emergency complaints with the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD).

While some of these complaints were closed without violations, there was at least one instance where inspectors could not gain access to units for verification.
