1294 Sterling Place is a 3-story, 6-unit residential building constructed in 1907 located in Crown Heights and currently owned by Yitzchok J Kohn. The building has been experiencing significant maintenance issues in recent months, with multiple complaints and violations emerging in early 2025. These include unsanitary conditions (mold), water leaks, and problems with paint and plaster on walls and ceilings, particularly affecting these issues in Apartment 2R.

HPD attempted to conduct inspections but was repeatedly unable to gain access to investigate the reported conditions properly. While recent bedbug reports for 2024 and 2023 show no infestation cases, the building's recent history of water-related issues, mold problems, and access difficulties for inspections raise concerns about ongoing maintenance and habitability conditions.
