The four-story, 31-unit tenement building at 1568 Sterling Place in Crown Heights, built in 1922 and owned by Nyc Pact Preservation Partners Llc, has experienced recurring heat and hot water issues over the past year. Most notably, there was a significant cluster of heating and hot water complaints in December 2024, with multiple emergency complaints filed between December 4-21, 2024, affecting the entire building and individual apartments. During this period, while some violations were issued and subsequently closed through inspections, access to certain units was not granted, complicating the inspection process.

The most recent service request from February 2025 regarding building-wide heat and hot water issues was resolved within four days, with confirmation that conditions were corrected. The building has also faced other concerns, including two paint/plaster complaints regarding ceilings in January 2025, which were investigated but resulted in no violations.
