2076 Dean Street is a three-story, six-unit New Law tenement building located in Crown Heights and owned by Martin Stein. Built in 1910, the building has experienced several significant maintenance issues over recent years, particularly clustered around August 2020 when multiple complaints and violations were documented. During this period, there were multiple reports of water leaks in various forms (heavy flow, damp spots, slow leaks) affecting unit 3R, along with complaints about mold, intercom issues, door problems, and unsanitary conditions.

These incidents led to both emergency and non-emergency Housing Maintenance Code complaints and resulted in several violation notices, including requirements to address leaks, repair plastered surfaces, and ensure self-closing doors in apartment 3R, along with various building-wide safety and maintenance requirements. More recently, in June 2023, the building received an active Department of Buildings violation for failure to file the 2018 external low-pressure inspection. However, on a positive note, the building has maintained a consistent record of bedbug-free status from at least 2019 to the present, with all recent annual bedbug reports showing zero infested units.

Additionally, while there were rodent inspection issues noted in 2009-2010, with initial inspections failing for "Other Reasons," subsequent compliance inspections in 2010 showed passing results. The building's violation history shows that most issues have been resolved, with only the 2023 low-pressure inspection violation remaining active as of the latest available data.
