The two-family house at 448 Bainbridge Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant, owned by 5050 Properties LLC, has experienced several maintenance issues over the past few years, with the most significant cluster of problems occurring in late 2022. In November 2022, multiple complaints were filed regarding various maintenance issues, including unsanitary conditions (mold and pests), problems with flooring and stairs, plumbing issues in the bathroom, and paint/plaster concerns affecting both walls and ceilings.

All these complaints were investigated by the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), leading to the issuance of violations, though they were ultimately closed in January 2023. Prior to this, in June 2021, there were two separate incidents involving non-emergency maintenance issues.

These included complaints about wall paint/plaster conditions and electrical lighting problems. However, inspections conducted in July 2021 did not result in any violations being issued for these complaints. The building, constructed in 1899, is a two-story structure that has clearly faced some maintenance challenges in recent years, with the late 2022 complaints being particularly noteworthy due to the number of different issues reported and the resulting violations.
