147 Hull Street is a three-story, six-unit Old Law Tenement building located in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, built in 1924 and currently owned by Cheryl Ighodaro. The building experienced significant maintenance issues in early 2022, with multiple complaints regarding heat and hot water problems affecting both individual apartments and the entire building.

During this period, between January and February 2022, there were at least nine documented incidents of heat/hot water complaints, including seven building-wide issues, some of which were verified by the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) inspections. Additionally, there were two emergency water leak complaints during this time that HPD could not inspect due to access issues. More recently, as of November 2024, the building has received several new violations that are currently open, specifically concerning Apartment A on the first floor.

These violations, classified as B and C, include issues with water leaks and mold at the ceiling in both the bathroom and hallway, as well as problems with the plastered surfaces in these areas. The building's heating system has also been subject to scrutiny, with past violations recorded in 2022 regarding inadequate heat supply and access to the heating system. Despite these maintenance challenges, the property has successfully passed rodent inspections in 2018 and 2020, and there have been no reported bedbug infestations in the most recent filings from 2022 through 2025, suggesting improved pest management practices.
