601 Quincy Street is a 4-story, 8-unit New Law Tenement building constructed in 1931, currently owned by Herminio Torres. The building has experienced persistent heat and hot water issues over the past two years, with multiple emergency complaints filed throughout 2023-2025 regarding inadequate heat and hot water affecting the entire building.

Between June 2023 and February 2025, there have been at least ten complaints about heat and hot water problems, some of which resulted in violations being issued by the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD). Most recently, in February 2025, complaints were filed regarding a slow water leak and heat/hot water issues, but HPD inspectors were unable to gain access to conduct proper inspections.
