360 Clifton Place, Brooklyn, NY 11216

The three-story, two-family house at 360 Clifton Place in Bedford-Stuyvesant, owned by Ilsoo Kim and built in 1975, underwent a series of maintenance challenges in early 2022 that warrant attention. In January 2022, multiple complaints were filed regarding the property, including issues with water leaks (heavy flow), pest infestations (mice), unsanitary conditions (mold), problems with the ventilation system, floor defects, and radiator plumbing concerns.

While some of these complaints resulted in violations being issued, such as for pests and flooring issues, others were ultimately closed without violations, including the mold and ventilation complaints. The Department of Housing Preservation and Development conducted inspections on February 1, 2022, which confirmed several violations that required remediation, including broken vinyl floor tiles in both the kitchen and a bedroom, defective plastered surfaces in the hallway ceiling, and a water leak at ceiling in the private hallway - all in Apartment A on the first story.

The building has demonstrated improvement in recent years, passing all rodent inspections from 2020 through 2025, and has maintained a clean bedbug record with no reported infestations or eradications between 2020 and 2025. Multiple construction permits were issued between 2020 and 2021 for various work, indicating proactive maintenance efforts, including five emergency work permits in 2020 alone, followed by additional permits in 2021-2023 for various improvements.
