The building experienced significant safety-related issues in 2022, with multiple Housing Maintenance Code violations documented during an April inspection, including problems with fire escape access, emergency egress systems, and public hall maintenance on the fourth story. Specific violations included a lockable door lock on the fire escape window in multiple apartments (Units 2, 3, and 4), problems with the ceiling's fire retardant material, encumbrances in the public hall, and issues with the scuttle opening size.
