176 Knickerbocker Avenue is a modern 4-story, 8-unit residential building constructed in 2011, currently owned by Ioan Sita. The building has experienced several maintenance issues over the past few years, most notably in August 2021 when emergency complaints were filed regarding heat/hot water issues in apartments and carbon monoxide detector concerns. While the carbon monoxide complaint was investigated by the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) with no violations found, inspectors were unable to access the apartments related to the heat/hot water complaint.

Additionally, a gas utility referral complaint was logged with the Department of Buildings in October 2021, but the inspector was again unable to gain access during the final inspection attempt in June 2022.
