388 Shepherd Avenue is a two-story, three-unit residential building located in East New York, Brooklyn, and built in 1910, currently owned by Ronald Mongo. The building has been subject to several notable maintenance and safety issues over the past few years. Most recently, there have been recurring violations related to the failure to file mandatory annual bedbug reports in 2022, 2023, and 2024, which remain open as of 2024.

Between 2019 and 2021, there were multiple complaints and violations regarding building stability and structure, including six separate complaints about building shaking/vibration in February-April 2019, and several Environmental Control Board (ECB) violations in 2021 describing serious maintenance issues such as CMU wall collapse, exposed plywood, and deteriorating conditions affecting the rear chimney.
