1295 Blake Avenue is a two-story, three-unit residential building located in East New York, constructed in 1910 and currently owned by Marie Nicolas. The building has experienced recurring maintenance issues over recent years, with the most significant problems occurring between 2021-2022.

Multiple complaints were filed in September 2022 regarding unsanitary conditions, including pest infestations, as well as plumbing issues with bathtubs/showers and sinks, though HPD was unable to gain access to inspect these conditions. Earlier that year, in March 2022, there were both heavy flow water leak issues and pest problems that resulted in violations being issued. A carbon monoxide detector violation was recorded in January 2021, along with additional concerns about water leaks that HPD couldn't access for inspection.

The building currently has several open violations as of 2024, including requirements to file annual bedbug reports (violation dates: 2023, 2024), and multiple C-class violations from April 2022 concerning pest infestations (mice and roaches) and various maintenance issues in the first-floor apartment involving defective plaster surfaces, peeling paint, and water leaks in the kitchen. An initial rodent inspection conducted in April 2012 showed compliance (passed) status. While some past issues have been resolved, the persistence of open violations related to pest control and maintenance requirements suggests ongoing challenges with building upkeep and compliance with housing maintenance codes.
