The two-family house at 135 East 58th Street in East Flatbush, owned by Jacqueline Timol and built in 1950, has experienced recurring issues with heat and hot water systems over the past several years. Most notably, there have been three documented incidents of heat/hot water problems since late 2020 through late 2021, including both apartment-specific and entire-building complaints, with emergency response from the Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) department in each case.

While HPD inspections were conducted in these instances, no violations were found, and the most recent complaint in November 2021 was closed with a note indicating that heat was not required at the time of inspection. In addition to the heating issues, the building experienced multiple plumbing-related incidents in summer 2018, particularly concerning toilet facilities, with four separate complaints filed between July 30 and August 1, 2018.

While HPD inspectors were unable to gain access to perform inspections in two of these cases, inspections in August were conducted with no violations issued. While all documented complaints have been closed, the pattern of both heating and plumbing issues over the years suggests ongoing maintenance challenges within the building's systems.
