The four-story, 17-unit brick tenement building at 6005 4th Avenue in Sunset Park, owned by John Arena and constructed in 1931, has experienced recurring heating system issues throughout the 2023-2025 period, with multiple complaints regarding lack of heat and hot water affecting the entire building. Most recently, in January 2025, there were two emergency complaints about heating issues, though inspectors were unable to gain access for verification.

Between October 2023 and December 2024, there were at least eight documented complaints about heat and hot water system failures, with several instances showing that heat and hot water were reportedly restored by the time inspections were conducted.
