The 23-unit, 4-story building at 1829 East 14th Street in Sheepshead Bay, built in 1937 and currently owned by Arber Selimaj, has experienced recurring heat and hot water issues over the past several years. Most recently, in 2025 and late 2023, there were heat/hot water complaints affecting the entire building, though HPD was unable to gain access for inspections in these instances. Between 2018 and 2023, there were multiple reports of heat and hot water problems, with several cases where tenants indicated the issues had been resolved by the time HPD arrived.

The building has also faced some infrastructure challenges, including a power outage in July 2020 and brick facade issues noted in April 2022, which resulted in a $2,500 penalty for structural cracks and missing mortar joints between the 3rd and 4th stories. The property currently has two active DOB violations from 2024, including failure to file the 2023 external low-pressure inspection report and a requirement for sidewalk shed installation for public protection.
