The three-story, six-unit tenement building at 12-29 117th Street in College Point, built in 1930 and currently owned by Nicholas Kyrtatas, has experienced several significant maintenance issues over the past few years. Most recently, in February 2025, there was a building-wide heat and hot water emergency that was resolved shortly after investigation.

The building has a concerning pattern of heat-related issues, with another emergency heat complaint in February 2021, though inspectors were unable to gain access for verification. During late 2020 and early 2021, multiple conditions were reported that inspectors could not access to verify, including heavy water leaks, various paint/plaster issues (both walls and ceilings), and unsanitary mold conditions, though these were classified as both emergency and non-emergency situations.
