The 77-unit, 6-story building at 42-95 Main Street in Flushing, owned by Hui Wong and constructed in 1959, has experienced recurring heat and hot water issues over the past several years. Most recently, in 2024, there were two complaints (in May and January) regarding lack of heat/hot water, with HPD unable to access units for inspection in both cases. These heating system problems have persisted since at least 2020, with multiple complaints indicating both apartment-specific and building-wide issues.

The building has also faced ventilation system concerns, with inspections in 2022 and 2021 yielding no violations, though this followed previous ventilation-related complaints. Significant safety and maintenance issues have been documented, including violations regarding self-closing doors in basement and common areas identified in early 2024, affecting laundry and service areas. Unit 6D has had multiple safety concerns, including missing CO detectors and smoke alarms documented in 2022-2018, as well as a notable fire event recorded in 2019.

The building underwent facade-related work in 2019-2020, with multiple violations regarding unsafe conditions and the need for sidewalk protection. More recently, in September 2024, there was a violation issued for unpermitted work involving plumbing and electrical installations in commercial space #3. However, it's worth noting that the building has maintained zero reported bedbug infestations in the past five years (2020-2025), and recent rodent inspections in 2022 showed passing results, though there was some rat activity noted during 2018 inspections.
