The three-story, four-unit building at 169-07 Jamaica Avenue in Jamaica, owned by Shawn Sharif and constructed in 1910, has experienced several notable maintenance issues over the past few years. Most significantly, there are currently four active violations with the Department of Buildings issued in 2023 for failure to file external low-pressure inspections for the years 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.

In 2021, the building experienced multiple repair issues, particularly affecting apartment 2R, including problems with a broken refrigerator door gasket, an infestation of roaches, and violations related to safety equipment such as missing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. The apartment's condition required repairs to walls and ceilings, as well as a light fixture in the kitchen. In early 2021, there were also complaints about water leaks and various appliance issues (including a refrigerator and electric/gas range) which were inspected by the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, resulting in violations.

The building has consistently maintained its bedbug reporting requirements since 2022, with no reported infestations in the last three filing periods up to July 2025.
