The 2-family house at 185-06 Hillside Avenue in Hollis, built in 1901 and currently owned by 18506 Hillside Ave. LLC, has experienced several concerning maintenance issues over recent years.

The most significant problems emerged between 2018-2019, particularly affecting the second floor apartment (2FL), which experienced multiple heat and hot water system failures, with eight emergency complaints filed between August 2018 and March 2019. During this period, the building received multiple Housing Maintenance Code violations, including problems with carbon monoxide detectors, un-capped radiators, and inadequate heating and hot water supply, along with plumbing issues in the bathroom wash basin, all of which were eventually addressed and certified as corrected between late 2018 and early 2019.
