This two-story, four-unit residential building at 79-17 153rd Avenue in Howard Beach, owned by Nadia Tadros, was constructed in 1978 and has experienced several notable incidents affecting resident safety and comfort. The most significant cluster of issues occurred in September 2021, when multiple complaints were filed regarding various maintenance problems including heating/hot water issues, electrical outlets/switches, safety concerns with carbon monoxide and smoke detectors, appliance problems with the refrigerator, and maintenance needs for plumbing fixtures including the bathtub/shower.

While most of these complaints were inspected by the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) without resulting violations, a lack of heat/hot water issue was identified through inspection of another apartment.
