The three-unit, three-story building at Layton Avenue in St. George, owned by Calogero Zito, was constructed in 2019 and has experienced several notable incidents, most significantly a series of pest-related issues in July 2024.

During this period, multiple complaints were filed regarding unsanitary conditions with pests, resulting in two separate violations being issued by the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), though inspections of other complaints during the same timeframe found no violations. Additionally, there were concerns about heat and hot water in one apartment, as well as issues with doors, windows, and ventilation systems, all of which were addressed without violations being issued.

A sustainability enforcement work order in September 2020 and a construction enforcement work order filed in March 2020 both resulted in inspections being conducted, with the former finding no violations and the latter's stop work order being fully rescinded by March 25, 2020.
