Managing and cancelling your subscription

Category: Billing & Plans
Read time: 3 minutes

Subscriptions on Augrented are managed through Stripe's billing portal — the same secure interface used by millions of businesses. You can upgrade, downgrade, cancel, update your payment method, and view past invoices all from one place.

Where to manage your subscription

Go to Account → Billing (or /billing in your browser) and click Manage subscription to open the Stripe billing portal. No need to contact support for standard changes.

From the portal you can:

  • View your current plan and billing period
  • Upgrade — Switch from Renter monthly to Renter annual (save $24/year)
  • Downgrade — Let your subscription expire at the end of the current period
  • Cancel — Stop auto-renewal; access continues through the end of your paid period
  • Update payment method — Change the card on file
  • View invoices and payment history

Cancelling your subscription

Cancelling is straightforward and takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

  1. Go to Account → Billing and click Manage subscription
  2. Click Cancel subscription in the Stripe portal
  3. Confirm the cancellation

What happens when you cancel:

  • Premium report access ends at the end of your paid billing period
  • Free reports still work — your account reverts to the free tier (10 reports per month)
  • Purchased credits remain — any credits you bought (Report Bundle or Apartment Hunter) stay on your account, never expire, and still unlock premium reports
  • Saved buildings and watch lists stay on your account — they just stop sending alerts until you resubscribe or use credits
  • Watch alerts stop when premium access ends

You won't be charged again. Your account stays active on the free tier indefinitely. There's no data loss.

Upgrading or downgrading plans

Upgrade from free to a paid plan

  1. Go to the Pricing page and choose your plan
  2. Click Start Your Search (Renter) or the appropriate button
  3. Complete checkout through Stripe

Downgrade from Renter to free

  1. Cancel through the billing portal as described above
  2. At the end of your billing period, your account reverts to the free tier automatically

Switch between monthly and annual billing

Use the Stripe billing portal to change your billing frequency. If you switch from monthly to annual mid-cycle, the change takes effect at your next billing date.

What about credits when I cancel?

Purchased credits never expire — whether you bought a 3-pack or a 30-pack, and whether you're on a subscription or not. They remain on your account indefinitely and can be used to unlock premium reports at any time.

Subscription credits (the 5 monthly premium reports that come with Renter, or 50 with Business) do not roll over or survive cancellation. Any unused allotment for the current period expires when the subscription ends.

Can I get a refund?

Credit bundles are non-refundable once purchased, but since they never expire and work on any building in either city, unused credits hold their value.

For subscription charges, Stripe handles refunds on a case-by-case basis. If you believe you were charged in error, contact [email protected] within 14 days of the charge.

Still need help?

If you run into issues with the billing portal or need a change the portal doesn't support, email [email protected]. We respond within a few hours on weekdays.

Not sure if you need a subscription? Start with a free account — 10 reports per month, no risk.
