1112 Halsey Street is a two-story, three-unit residential building constructed in 1899 in Bushwick, currently owned by Mansour Mehdizadeh. The building experienced significant maintenance issues in August 2018, with multiple emergency complaints regarding heat and hot water problems affecting both the entire building and individual apartments. Of particular concern were reports of unsanitary conditions, including mold and pests, though the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) was unable to gain access to inspect some of these complaints.

An August 2018 inspection did result in violations related to hot water provision in Apartment 3, locked boiler room access, door self-closing mechanisms, and various posting requirements including gas leak procedures and housing information notices. The only recent complaint on record was in May 2020 regarding adjacent buildings, which was referred to the Department of Environmental Protection and subsequently closed. The building's violation status shows one open violation from 2018 regarding vestibule door self-closing mechanisms, though most violations from that period have been resolved or certified closed.
