The 2-story, 4-unit tenement building at 599 Wyona Street in East New York, owned by Etai Vardi and constructed in 1930, has experienced several significant maintenance issues in recent years. Most concerning is a heat and hot water outage affecting the entire building in April 2025, though these services were reportedly restored during HPD's investigation. A pattern of maintenance issues emerged in 2024, particularly in September when multiple complaints were filed regarding various building systems, including doors, cabinets, flooring, and ceilings.
