This 6-unit, 3-story New Law tenement building at 1832 81st Street in Bensonhurst, owned by Bedri Qoku, has experienced recurring heating system issues over the past several years. Most notably, there have been two documented incidents of heat and hot water outages affecting the entire building, in December 2019 and January 2025, both classified as emergencies.

In addition to these heating system problems, the building has several open violations regarding bedbug reporting requirements, with inspections from 2021 through 2024 showing non-compliance with the annual bedbug report filing mandate under Housing Maintenance Code (HMC) regulations. The building's safety and maintenance record reveals several areas of concern, particularly from December 2019 when multiple violations were issued regarding the posting of important safety information in common areas.
