This two-story, three-unit multi-family residential building located at 170 San Jose Ave in Noe Valley was constructed in 1978 and is currently owned by Albert K. Chiu and Susan P.Y. Rev.

The building's maintenance record shows a single exterior maintenance project in 2018, involving the replacement and painting of eight sections of siding plywood and Z metal at the rear of the building, completed at a cost of $6,000. The building underwent routine apartment house inspections in 2001 and 2006, with the only violation recorded being a fire safety issue in 2001 regarding the need for fire extinguisher recharging, which was promptly resolved within a week.
