Initial analysis

The property at 529-535 Minna Street in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood is a multi-family residential building developed by Minna Park Housing Partners, originally constructed in 1900 and designed to contain 15 or more apartment units. The building underwent a significant transformation in 1998 with the completion of a four-story structure containing 26 residential units, replacing the previous one-story configuration.

Recent records from late 2024 to early 2025 show persistent street cleanliness issues in the immediate vicinity, with multiple reports of garbage and debris, including abandoned furniture, a refrigerator covered in waste, electronics, and instances of human waste or urine. The area has also experienced some public safety concerns, including reports of encampments and a parking violation on the sidewalk. Prior to these recent issues, the building had two fire safety complaints - one in 2022 regarding alarm systems (which was corrected) and an unsubstantiated complaint in 2021. While historical issues are documented, it's noteworthy that the 311 calls primarily relate to the surrounding area rather than the building itself, with no recent complaints reported directly about the building's internal conditions or safety systems.
