1863 Oakdale Ave is a three-story, two-unit multi-family residential building located in the Silver Terrace neighborhood. Built in 1909 and currently owned by Huang Qia Wen & Hui Jin, the property has undergone several significant modifications over the past two decades.

Between 2004-2005, substantial renovations were attempted, including the addition of an entertainment room, study room, full bath, storage, and laundry facilities on the ground floor, along with associated electrical upgrades. These improvements, initially permitted at a cost of $20,000, faced complications with expired permits, though some were eventually completed in 2012. The building has faced multiple compliance issues, most notably a fence violation in 2011 that resulted in abatement proceedings and a commercial use complaint in 2016 regarding an unauthorized auto repair operation and possible illegal dwelling unit in the rear.

The fence violation was resolved in 2012 when the fence was reduced to 6 feet with at least 75% open upper portion, while the commercial use complaint was investigated but ultimately marked as closed with no violation. More recently, from late 2024 through early 2025, there have been numerous reports of garbage and debris issues near the property, with multiple 311 calls for street cleaning services, though most were resolved with no work needed or transferred for further handling. A graffitiy incident was also reported and addressed in December 2024.
