The two-unit multi-family residential building at 501-503 Gates Street in Bernal Heights, owned by the Naldo Ofelia Martires 99 Re Trust, has a significant history of maintenance issues and permit violations dating back to 2022. Most notably, in August 2022, a complaint was filed regarding unauthorized construction work, including improperly built rear stairs and an unpermitted carport with roof installation, which resulted in an active Notice of Violation under the San Francisco Building Code.
