(1001b(13), 1002, 1301 hc) lack of adequate heating and ventilation can cause excessive moisture and condensation on windows and cold surfaces. in many cases it is considered to be a tenant's housekeeping matter, however, tenant stated that he consulted with a home inspector and concluded that there might be faulty weather proofing on the outside. tenant stated that he will provide the home inspection report to the property owner. tips for eliminating household mold by the tenants: 1. unconditioned air in your home holds water and needs to be forced out or circulated. heavy drapes also trap wet air. open drapes and windows every day to air out these rooms. 2. increase air flow/circulation by opening windows and moving furniture away from walls; leave some space between furniture and walls to let moist air out. 3. reduce moisture in the home by ventilation in moisture producing areas like bathrooms and kitchen. 4. keep relative humidity in homes to between 40-50% year round. keep temperature at 65 - 72°. keep doors to rooms open to heat home evenly. 5. increase airflow by keeping closet doors open. note: assure that the heating unit is functional in order to assist in reducing the moisture within the unit. interior surfaces sectionnot active
