The 5-unit, 2-story multi-family residential building at 327 22nd Avenue in San Francisco's Central Richmond neighborhood, owned by the Hui Family Trust, has undergone several significant events since its construction in 1979. The building experienced its last major renovation in 1993 with a completed reroofing project. Two notable sets of fire safety violations were documented: in 2002, there were multiple fire-related issues including problems with a fire escape drop ladder, other unspecified fire violations, and concerns about combustible storage, though all these violations were abated by June 12, 2002.

A subsequent routine inspection in 2011 revealed additional fire safety concerns, including the need for proper fire extinguishers and annual certification of the central fire alarm system maintenance, all of which were resolved by June 28, 2011.
