2018-07-25T00:00:00.000Z repair source of water damage & eliminate mold/mildew on walls (703, 1001(b.13)(f), 1301, 1306 hc) apt. #2; south window wall: there is water staining on walls around & below windows which indicates water intrusion. additionally there are also areas of discoloration around windows which may indicate mold or mildew. first you must locate source of water infiltration & make repairs as required in order to prevent damage to structure & further developement of mildew. then you are required to remove mold/mildew as required. it is recommended to remove mold with a mild solution of bleach & then paint walls with a primer containing mildewcide. repaint all walls where surfaces have been recently repaired. all walls should maintain an even visual appearance upon completion. note: mold remediation reports will be required for serious &/or repeat cases. although a mold remediation report is not required at this time, please note that if this case worsens, then a mold remediation report will be required. for your information mold remediation reports require that you hire a licensed remedial professional in order to investigate & test mold as required. this professional is required to provide a written mold remediation report with recommended repairs to correct the problem. mold remediation reports then must be submitted with a building permit application, and finally when all work is complete the plumbing &/or building inspector must inspect and sign the final inspection/job card before the housing inspector can abate this violation. building sectionnot active
