The building has undergone significant modifications and improvements since 2004, when a major horizontal addition was authorized to add a new unit (with a cost of $300,000) followed by additional work in 2007 to convert storage space to habitable rooms and install a fire sprinkler system with 91 sprinklers. During this period, several building violations and complaints emerged, notably including foundation concerns in 2006 that allegedly affected a neighboring property (1355 45th Avenue), which required multiple compliance efforts and was ultimately abated by 2012.

Additional violations in 2009 concerned expired permits and non-compliance with notices, though these were also resolved by 2012.
