Built in 1885 and owned by Nobuo Yamaji, this flats & duplex structure experienced a significant fire incident in September 2008 that caused considerable damage requiring extensive repairs. The fire led to the replacement of 6 exterior wall studs, 6 roof rafters, approximately 1200 square feet of sheetrock, interior finishes, wiring, and a portion of the roofing, with repair costs estimated at $150,000.

The building underwent various permits and inspections between 2008 and 2010, including the installation of a new 100-amp electrical service, rewiring of affected areas, plumbing work in unit 1142, and the addition of a roof-mounted solar panel system.
